Diamedica representatives were back in Burkino Faso last week to continue the company’s programme of outreach and support for customers in West Africa. The multi-purpose visit was to provide training for technicians and doctors; to install equipment and to establish a brand new distributor of Diamedica equipment in the capital, Ouagadougou.
Our new distributor is Zenith International Services, an efficient company that specialises in the high-quality medical, scientific and laboratory equipment, consumables and pharmaceuticals. The team at Zenith International Services have now been fully trained on the entire range of Diamedica products and are ready to serve customers across Burkina Faso.
Thanks to Evariste Zoungrana, Director General of Zenith International Services, the Diamedica team were delighted to meet a number of key anaesthetists who attended a presentation on Diamedica products. The Diamedica team, consisted of Senior Engineer - Jon Meek, Business Development Manager - Rachel Currie-Cathey and visiting anaesthetist Dr Mike Dobson.
Earlier in the year, Diamedica had given a training workshop on anaesthesia equipment for doctors at the invitation of SOGEMAB (Société de gestion de l’équipement et de la maintenance biomédicale). SOGEMAB are a society of biomedical technicians who provide quality care through the supply and maintenance of medical equipment, and partner with many hospitals for the Ministry of Health.
SOGEMAB had invited Diamedica back to provide hands on training to a further 20 technicians and engineers on the Glostavent anaesthesia machine. Many of those attending were familiar with the Glostavent, as there are already some 30 machines installed in hospitals across Burkino Faso. All the engineers were of the opinion that the Glostavent is a very good machine for the challenging hospital conditions in which they work and they were pleased to learn that there is now a distributor for spare parts in the country.
The final day of our busy schedule included installing a new Glostavent Helix at the Polyclinique Sandof and ensuring that six members of staff at the Clinique were thoroughly trained in the use and maintenance of the new machine.
Diamedica values every customer and we do our best to support customers even in very remote locations. To this end, Diamedica will continue to build on existing partnerships and to expand our increasing portfolio of distributors in countries around the globe.
Zenith International Services will be exhibiting at the forthcoming FORUM PHARMACEUTIQUE INTERNATIONAL in Ouagadougou on the 21,22 & 23 June 2018 at the Ouaga Conference Rooms 2000. The Diamedica Portable Anaesthesia machine and Baby CPAP will be on display at this show.
